AUSTIN, Texas— Fenimore, Kay, Harrison & Ford, LLP has been honored with the coveted Five*Star Award presented by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT). The announcement was made at the 34th Annual Connecting Leaders Conference at the Omni Frisco on June 21, 2019. Derek McGee, partner, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
Since 2002, IBAT has recognized its associate members that routinely provide excellent service and innovative solutions to help community banks grow, enhance profits and gain efficiency with the Five*Star Award. To be in consideration for the Five*Star Award, an associate member must earn enough engagement points—gained through participation in IBAT and industry events, etc.—to be in the top 10 percent of its tier. IBAT member banks then vote to determine the winner in each tier. Criteria used to determine this year’s winners included service excellence, human relationships, integrity, commitment to the community banking industry and exceptional value to the banks they serve.
Only three Five*Star Awards are given annually, and Fenimore, Kay, Harrison & Ford, LLP won in the tier 2 category (11-199 employees). It also received this honor in 2016. The firm represents community banks and other financial institutions on all facets of banking, corporate and regulatory law on both a state and federal level.
“It is our pleasure to recognize Fenimore, Kay, Harrison & Ford for supporting Texas community banks through its participation in both IBAT activities and industry advocacy efforts,” said Christopher Williston, IBAT president and chief executive officer. “The expertise and exceptional service the firm provides its clients, paired with its commitment and passion for the community banking industry, is much appreciated by IBAT and our member banks.”
